Agustina de Arag'n 1808

Agustina de Aragón was a Spanish heroine, she defended Spain during the Spanish War of Independence. She started off defending as a civilian and was eventually made a professional officer in the Spanish Army, and was known as “the Spanish Joan of Arc”. There were many different myths and rumours about her and she was the subject of a lot of artwork, including sketches by Francisco de Goya and poetry from Lord Byron.
