Anne Bonny

Anne Bonny is almost a myth as not a lot is known about her, with most of the information about her coming from a 1724 book “A General History of the Robberies and Murders of the most notorious Pyrates”. As far as we know she was born around 1690, under the name Anne McCormac, in Cork, Ireland and she was the daughter of a servant women and a lawyer. From a young age she was known to have a fiery temper and at age 13 the supposedly stabbed a servant girl with a table knife, as well as this she was said to have set fire to her father’s plantation, in revenge for him disowning her for marrying a poor sailor and small time pirate, James Bonny.
