Dwarfen Mountain Holds: Dwarf Hammerers / Longbeards

A Dwarf throng is a fearsome sight to behold, their ranks gleaming with shields and banners proclaiming clan, guild, and God. These stout-hearted infantrymen, clad in steel, are supported by massive engines of war unmatched in their destructive power. While Dwarfs shun magic, they are masters of runes, binding eldritch forces into weapons and armour of extraordinary potency. With grim determination, they enter battle, seeking only victory or death.

The Hammerers is a unit entirely consisting of specially drawn Dwarfs from both units and clans who exemplify bravery and honour. Each Dwarf is outfitted with large, great hammers and is capable of destroying the toughest enemies. Usually assigned to act as the king's personal bodyguard, it is said that once the hammers are swung down on the enemy, fellow units all cheer at the sight of these noble warriors.

Dwarf Longbeards are the veterans of their kin, a well-known fact among Dwarfs, as the size of their beards reflects how old these warriors are. Longbeards have thought in many wars, beaten enemies and endured trials only young Dwarfs can imagine.
