At the Dawn of the 31st millennium, the Warmaster Horus unleashes civil war upon his father, The Emperor of Mankind, in a bid to gain power and replace him as the ruler of The Imperium. Convincing half of his brothers, the Primarchs, to join his rebellion, Horus and his traitorous brothers clash against loyalist forces upon thousands of worlds, slaughtering billions and changing the course of the Imperium forever.

The Dark Mechanicum is a twisted mockery of Martian purity, yet they perceive themselves as the Omnissiah's rightful heirs. In their insatiable quest for forbidden knowledge, they allied with the Warmaster Horus, forged dark bargains with the ruinous powers, plumbed the depths of the occult, and birthed horrifying, spike-adorned weapons of unprecedented power.

Some of the larger machines of war fielded on the battlefield, the Serperos Heavy Stalkers, are a terrifying sight to behold. Equipped with thick armour plates and powerful shield generators and armed with powerful siege weaponry, or the storm laser arrays capable of nullifying the void shields of Titans.
