This is a miniature of an SS Tanker Officer, he would have been charge of a unit of the SS (Schutzstaffel). The SS were a major paramilitary organization under Adolf Hitler and the National Socialist German Workers’ Party in Nazi Germany. They started off as a small organisation mostly full of elitists then it grew from 200 members to at least 800,000 in only 20 years, and they were responsible for one of the most horrific mass killings ever, killing an estimated 5.5 to 6 million Jews in the Holocaust.
