The iconic Supermarine Spitfire was the most produced British fighter plane and is one of the most famous aircrafts from the WW2 era. It was designed as a single-seat, short-range, high-performance interceptor aircraft. During the Battle of Britain, July to October 1940, it became a symbol of freedom to the British public by fighting against the Messerschmitt Bf 109 to ward off the Luftwaffe air attacks
